PRIVACY POLICY

NOTICE OF PRIVACY PRACTICES UPDATE

Effective February 16, 2026

Federal privacy regulations have been updated, and our practice has revised our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices to reflect these changes. We are committed to protecting your health information with the highest level of confidentiality and care.

Special Protections for Certain Types of Health Information

Some categories of health information receive additional confidentiality protections under federal and state law. These include:

  • HIV-related information
  • Genetic information
  • Alcohol and/or substance use disorder treatment records
  • Mental health records

Our practice will fully comply with all special protections that apply to these types of records.

Substance Use Disorder (Part 2) Records

Federal law (42 CFR Part 2) provides heightened privacy protections for records related to substance use disorder diagnosis, treatment, or referral. When our office receives these records—either with your consent or under an allowed exception—we follow all requirements governing how they may be used or disclosed.

Part 2 records generally cannot be used against you in civil, criminal, administrative, or legislative proceedings without your authorization or a qualifying court order.
